Gortletteragh GAA Club Notes 1st September 2024

Quid Game fundraiser

Excitement filled the room in Lough Rynn Castle on as the Gortletteragh GAA Quid Game fundraising event was officially launched. This thrilling event, inspired by the hit Netflix series "Squid Game," is scheduled to take place on Friday 18th October 2024 in Lough Rynn Castle.

We are hoping to raise funds to develop facilities at the club's recently opened pitch. The proceeds of the event will go towards the construction of a spectator stand that offers access and comfort to supporters of all ages and abilities.

Local clubs and groups are invited to nominate participants to compete for an amazing cash prize of €10,000, with the victorious participant sharing their winnings with their club or a charity of their choice.

The Quid Game event organisers are delighted with the response to date, with a large number of participants already signed up. We wish to express thanks to the local clubs and groups for their support. There are still a number of participant spaces available, and we extend an invitation to other clubs to nominate participants.

The event organisers are also seeking the support of local businesses, with various sponsorship packages available.

Tickets for the event are €20 and will go on sale in the coming weeks.

Parish Calendar 2025
As we approach the bicentenary of the establishment of the parish church, the theme of 2025 calendar is St.Mary's Church in the lives of the people of the parish. Photos of celebrations which took place in the church in the past and more recently, such as christenings, First Holy Communions, Confirmations and weddings would be very welcome.
To include our youngest parishioners, we would be delighted to receive photos of babies born between 1st October 2023 and 27th September 2024 and also of couples newly married within the same time period. The closing date for receipt of all photos is Friday 27th September and the email address remains parishcalendar23@gmail.com
Sincere thanks to all those who have submitted photos already. We want the calendar to again include as many parishioners as possible, so please continue to send photos over the coming months.
